Blogging at Jumped the Pond for the past 2.5 years turned out to be one of the best, unintended/unforeseen benefits that came out of my run as an expat.  The blog served as a place to capture some of my experiences and reflections in a new city, in a new marriage, in a new country.

In addition to serving as a repository for some of my fondest memories – as well as my most irritating annoyances of living abroad – the blog connected me to people in ways I did not anticipate. I get to follow along as friends on my blog roll get married, move to new cities, and generally find their way through life. Many of these people have become friends in real life, and I feel with great certainty that they will continue to be. For those reasons, I want to continue blogging.

But, my life as an expat has come to a close. And even though I will still work internationally on occasion, it feels like the right time to start a new chapter online to match my life here in Richmond, Virginia.

In September, I started blogging over at This Organized Mess, and as the URL suggests, it’s kind of a hot mess. I don’t want to only blog about one thing anymore like I did here, so I’m casting the net far and wide. I hope you might come along for the ride!
